Play for free all the way to level 75, the original goal aspired to by countless adventurers. Explore the world and stories that have been woven over a quarter of a century at your own pace, and experience everything Vana'diel has to offer.
Once you're ready to upgrade, you can seamlessly carry over your character to the full version and continue your journey. Take your first step into a living world shaped by the adventures of generations of adventurers!
IMPORTANT:
* Please make sure you have read the Free Trial Restrictions section.
* The free trial version of FINAL FANTASY XI does not include any expansion packs or additional downloadable content. As such, the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel and The Voracious Resurgence missions cannot be completed.
* Following the maintenance scheduled for late September 2026, the free trial will no longer have a 14-day time limit and can be played indefinitely. Pre-existing free trial accounts will have their specifications updated after the maintenance is complete. If you are unable to log in, please wait a while and try again.
* You are acquiring a license for a digital product. For full terms and conditions, please see the SQUARE ENIX STORE TERMS OF SALE. Digital products are “Software” under these terms.

Please note the free trial has the following restrictions:
1) Character limit - Free trial accounts can have up to 3 characters at a time.
2) Level 75 cap - Jobs available in the free trial can be leveled to 75. Jobs introduced in expansion packs are not available in the free trial.
3) Area restrictions - Free trial players will only be able to access areas included in the original FINAL FANTASY XI release.
4) Auction usage - Free trial players will not be able to place items up for auction, place bids on auctions, or view items up for auction.
5) Gil limit - Free trial players can hold up to a maximum of 100,000 gil.
6) Trading and bazaar - Free trial players cannot trade with other players or use the bazaar feature to buy or sell items.
7) Party Invitations - Free trial players cannot invite other players to a party. However, free trial players can join parties when invited.
8) Mog House Delivery Box - Free trial players cannot use the Mog House Delivery Box feature.
9) Tell/shout/yell - Free trial players cannot use the /tell, /shout, or /yell chat channels. However, they can chat within a party and reply to /tell messages from other players.
10) World Transfer Service - Free trial accounts cannot use the World Transfer Service.
11) Mentor - Free trial characters cannot become mentors.
12) Unity Concord - Free trial characters cannot take part in Unity Concord.
